The national tree of Czech Republic is the small-leaved linden. Its scientific name is Tilia
cordata and it is native to most parts of Europe. It is found in Britain, Portugal, Russia, Turkey,
Bulgaria, Greece and other countries in the region.

Towards the south, it is present only in highly elevated areas. The tree is deciduous and grown-up to 131 ft. tall. The bark of this tree is grey and smooth when it is young and gets firmer as the tree gets older. The branching also gets denser with age.
