Panama is a country in Central or North America which has a population of 4.1 Million and the capital of the country is Panama City. The currencies used in the state are Balboa and US Dollars. The country has a long history where it first got its independence from Spain in 1821 and then from Colombia in 1903. Juan Carlos Varela is the current president of Panama and Isabel Saint is the vice-president of the country. The Flower of the Holy Spirit: The National Flower of Panama:

The National Flower of Panama, also called ‘The Flower of the Holy Spirit’, ‘Dover Flower’ and the scientific name for the flower is Peristeria Elata, grows mostly in the parts of Panama since the country has a warm climate and this is a necessary condition for the growth of this flower. It is called ‘Dover Flower’ because of its resemblance to them. You can notice that when you see a flock of doves flying and due to the long leaves, the flower looks exactly like them.

The flower is beautiful, white, very thick, and waxy like in appearance. Inside of the white cup, is a perfect shaped dove, hence the name “Flor Del Espiruto Santo”. The wings of the dove have reddish-purple spots on its surface. The flowers are very fragrant and long lasting, especially, since the flowers don’t all open at the same time, but continue opening over a long period of time (2 – 3 months).
